Novel Coronavirus Latest Advice

We recommend that all of our customers travelling to countries affected by the Wuhan Novel Coronavirus, keep up to date with the latest advice from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

The FCDO began advising UK travelers against all but essential travel to mainland China as a result of the virus on 29th January 2019. Most UK insurers are now excluding travel cover to China, this is an expected reaction to an outbreak of this nature. As this is a rapidly evolving situation, it’s advised that you should check for current advice before travelling to any affected country.

As a newly identified viral strain, there is limited knowledge around how the Wuhan Coronavirus spreads. The NHS has published guidance on how to avoid catching the virus, as well as medical advice on how to identify its symptoms. You can view this information on the NHS website.

If you have any questions about how this may affect your travel insurance policy, please get in touch and we can talk things through with you.
